Lai Pan-chiu received his B.A. (Religious Studies, 1985) and M.Div. (Theology, 1987) from CUHK and Ph.D. from King’s College London (Systematic Theology, 1991). Before taking up his present position at CUHK in 1996, he taught at Middlesex University and served as pastor to the Rhenish Church (U.K.).

His academic interests include: Modern Christian Thought, Inter-religious Dialogue, Christianity and Chinese Culture, History of Christianity, Philosophy of Religion, Environmental Ethics, and Religion & Natural Science. He has successfully supervised 21 Ph.D. (including 4 as co-supervisor) and 9 M.Phil. (including 2 as co-supervisor) theses related to these areas.
